HOOSICK FALLS - Elizabeth M. Yager, 90, a longtime resident of Potter Hill died peacefully on December 26, 2017, at the Southweste­rn Vermont Medical Center, following a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Troy, NY, April 3, 1927, one of nine children, daughter of the late Clarence Eldred and Catherine “Carroll” Eldred. Elizabeth was the wife of almost 67 years to the late Frederick J. Yager Sr., who pre-deceased her in August of 2017. Elizabeth Eldred Yager went to and after graduating from Hoosick Falls High School in 1945, taught at the Boyntonvil­le one room school house. She also worked at Empire Markets for a while until she met her love of her life, Frederick J. Yager. They married on August 27, 1950, at St. George’s Church in Pittstown, NY, their life long church of worship. They had five children Frederick Jr., Michael, Mark, Karen and Judith. Elizabeth devoted her whole life to her husband, family, children, grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. She loved her horses, german shepard dogs, gardening, flowers and especially liked swimming in the family swimming pool. She will definally be missed, they are by sure the worlds greatest generation. A Mass of Chiristian Burial will be offered on Saturday December 30th at 11:00 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will be at a later date in Hoosick Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls on Saturday from 9:00 – 10:30 am. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church through the funeral home.
