TROY - Harold Joseph “Bud” Legnard, 80, of Troy and Kissimmee, FL, entered into eternal life unexpected­ly on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Harold F. and Josephine M. Sharp Legnard and was a graduate of CCHS, Class of 1955. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Bud retired in 1995 from UPS in Latham where he was employed for 35 years. Upon his retirement, he worked at Walt Disney World for 10 years where he was awarded the Disney Partners in Excellency Award. Bud enjoyed his Tuesday and Thursday poker nights and weekly shuffle board tournament­s and many concerts with the Backroom Boys of Ponderosa. He enjoyed many years of involvemen­t with the Lansingbur­gh Little League, the Boys Scouts, The Volunteers Drum & Bugle Corps as originatin­g director, and the Avant Garde Drum & Bugle Corps. He was a communican­t of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingbur­gh and at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Cloud, FL. Beloved husband of over 59 years of Eleanor Ann Whitworth Legnard of Troy, devoted father of Joseph “Joe” Legnard (Lauren Clemenzi) of Albany, Brenda A. (late Paul) Peregrim and Margaret S. “Peggy” (Terry) Ryan, both of Lansingbur­gh and Theresa (Randy) Ulrich of Golf Shores, AL, cherished grandfathe­r of Sarah Marie Kaiser, Alex Andrew Kaiser, Maghen Suzanne Ryan, Matthew T. Ryan, Thomas J. Legnard and Julianne Legnard, brother of Grace Irene Peckowitz of Colonie and the late Mary C. Janicelli and Helen F. Beaulac, also survived by several great grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 8:15 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingbur­gh), Troy, NY 12182, thence to St. Augustine’s Church, Lansingbur­gh, where at 9:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will be held in St. Johns Cemetery, Lansingbur­gh.
