Water main break shuts down main Cohoes throughfare
COHOES, N.Y. » A major water main break has forced city officials to shut down Saratoga Street from Bridge Street to Tibbits Avenue.
Due to the unseasonably cold weather and the size of the break, officials warned that repairs may take longer than normal, so motorists are asked to seek alternate routes until repairs are completed.
Residents in the area near the break will experience little or no water pressure until repairs are completed and may also see some discoloration in the water that officials said is normal and not harmful. Washing of laundry is not recommended during and immediately following repairs, as discoloration of light- colored laundry may occur.
