Julia Winslow wins gold at Atlantis Crown Invitation­al

BAHAMAS » Stepping Star gymnast Juliana Winslow earned a gold medal competing in her first internatio­nal meet, the 2017 Atlantis Crown

Invitation­al at the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas Dec. 14 to 17. A level 9 gymnast competing in the age 10 to 12 category, Winslow earned a first- place score of 8.475 on the uneven bars and an 8.825 on the vault for third place at the event. Her 8.20 on the balance beam and 8.475 in floor exercise earned her a 33.975 score all-around for fourth-place.

Stepping Stars teammate Maleah Quinney scored an 8.675 on the vault, 8.0 on the bars, 8.6 on the beam and 9.0 in floor exercise. The level seven gymnast competing in the 11-yearold division finished with a 34.275 all-around score. In addition, teammate Fiona Waite a level 7 gymnast who was unable to compete due to injury, had the honor of carrying the American flag during opening ceremonies.

SCHUYLERVI­LLE 58, GREENWICH 34 » Schuylervi­lle’s Josh Mason exploded for 19 points Tuesday night to lead the Black Horses (6-1 league, 7-1 overall) over the Witches. Nick Buesheim dropped in 10 points for Schuylervi­lle along with Stratton Sherman added 11.

Greenwich was led by Carson Mosher’s 12 points, including two three-point goals.

BOWLING

COHOES 3,066, MAPLE HILL 2,420 » The Cohoes girls bowling squad topped Maple Hill, 30-2 in Colonial Council action Tuesday afternoon.

Madison Dunn rolled a 215- 589 series to lead Cohoes. Rebbecca Lauridsen was the top bowler for Maple Hill with a 185- 497 series.

COHOES 3,412, MAPLE HILL 3,058 >. The Cohoes boys bowling team topped Maple Hill, 22-10 in Colonial Council action Tuesday afternoon.

Auston Barden rolled a 256- 683 series to lead Maple Hill. Brandon Charette led the Tigers with his 232677 series.

LOCAL HONOR SCORES

Lou Stoller rolled a 210159-163 532 series to lead the Tuesday Senior League followed by Ray Dozois with a 155-201-156 512. Joan Fink rolled a 141-137-126 404 followed by Ann Seabridge with a 125-143-127 395.
