Man allegedly broke TV station window
ALBANY, N.Y. » A man was arrested Thursday morning after city police said he tried to kick in the front door of a local television station.
Police said they responded about 2:45 a.m. to WTEN on Northern Boulevard to reports a man was kicking the news station’s front door. Upon arrival, officers located and arrested Robert Caserta, 46, of Albany, who had smashed out a window at the news station and was demanding that his dogs be returned to him.
On September 25, 2017 at approximately 10:45 p.m.
Police said Caserta was arrested Sept. 25 on an animal cruelty charge after he forced beer down his dog’s throat. His arrest was broadcast by local media outlets, including WTEN, and officers learned during their investigation that Caserta believed his dogs may have been at the TV station.
Caserta was charged with third-degree criminal mis-
chief and was also detained on an outstanding warrant from Albany City Criminal Court for failing to appear to answer the animal cruelty charge. He was arraigned in that court and sent to the Albany County jail.
Police: Shoplifters found with heroin
BRUNSWICK, N.Y. » Two men were arrested on larceny and drug charges after an investigation by state police into shoplifting at the Market 32 on Hoosick Street.
Troopers said Jared S. Terry, 29, of Mechanicville, and Kristopher M. Flores, 33, were observed by store
employees trying to steal $32 worth of batteries on Dec. 27. When confronted, troopers said, the men dumped the batteries and fled, but they were picked up Tuesday in Troy, with assistance from Rensselaer County sheriff’s deputies.
In addition to a misdemeanor count of petit larceny, the men were also each charged with seventhdegree criminal possession of a controlled substance. They were arraigned in Brunswick Town Court and each sent to the Rensselaer County jail on $500 bail.
