TROY, N.Y. » B-rads is back at a new Broadway location in downtown Troy.

The new B-rads Bistro Express will open on Monday at 333 Broadway.

Owned and operated by local chef Brad Stevens, the business originally started in Troy in 2012, on Fifth Avenue near the corner of Broadway.

Nearly a year ago, B-Rad’s Bistro closed that location, leaving local regulars missing its cuisine.

In the meantime, Stevens continued operating the B-rads Catering as well as a B-rad’s Bistro Express at 677 Broadway in Albany.

Now, B-rads Bistro is returning to downtown Troy in an express form. The new space, formerly occupied by doughnut shop Nibble Inc., has a small kitchen and seating for about 20 patrons.

Starting next week, it will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The menu will include some Brads favorites like the Southwest Cajun Chicken Wrap, the Reuben and hot homemade soups, of which there will be six available daily.

The lunch menu features a long list of salads, sandwiches and specialty grillers — like the hearty Filet Ramen Griller with filet mignon, cheddar cheese, sriracha mayo, an over-easy egg and tender ramen noodles between sourdough bread. Another will be the Chilidog Mac Attack: a deep-fried mac and cheese patty grilled hot dog and muenster cheese topped with chili on a brioche roll.

For breakfast, B-rads Bistro Express will offer breakfast sandwiches, french toast, pancakes and more.

Most menu items are less than $10 at the new B-rads Bistro Express.

Stevens, a Collar City native,

said he’s excited for B-rads to be back in the neighborhood, and to see the familiar faces.

The owner is glad to once again provide the Brads food that downtowners have missed.

“I’m happy to see old my old friends and custom- ers I haven’t served in over a year, also excited to be back where it all started,” he said.

The B-rads Bistro Express model has been working well for Stevens in the Albany location for the last few years, and now he has a second.

Stevens also has plans to expand B-rads Bistro Express across the river in the Capital City with additional locations.

Customers at the new B- rads Bistro Express in Troy can place and pay for pickup orders online at the eatery’s website, then quickly grab it to go. “It puts the express in B-rads Bistro Express,” Stevens said.
