CLIFTON PARK - Pierce J. Cotter, 97, of Schuyler Ridge Residentia­l Health Care Center in Clifton P ark and former Mill View Adult Home resident, died on Wednesday Jan. 24, 2018 at Schuyler Ridge after a brief illness. He was born in Glens Falls, NY on June 14, 1920 and was the son of the late Pierce J. and Margaret Rietfort Cotter, Jr. Pierce was a graduate of Cohoes High School and had attended Siena College. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, having served with the Army’s 15 Inf/3rd Division in Africa and Europe. He retired from General Electric Co. in Schenectad­y after 40 years of service as a Cost Accountant/Cost Estimator. Pierce was a member of the Cohoes K of C, the Society of 3rd Inf. Division 15th Regiment Associatio­n. He was a communican­t of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park. He was the beloved brother of the late John Cotter and Katherine Cotter. Pierce is survived by his extended family, Ann and Bill Vogt of Clifton Park, Geraldine Dinardo of Pleasantda­le and Antoinette Dinardo of Latham; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Monday at 11:30 am in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park with Fr. Pat Butler, Pastor of St. Edward the Confessor Church officiatin­g. A calling hour will be from 10:30 – 11:30 am Monday prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will be in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylervi­lle at 1:00 pm.
