WILMA I. CARPENTER (THOMSEN)
TROY – Wilma I. Carpenter (Thomsen), of Troy passed away after a brief illness at the Albany Medical Center on Tuesday January 23rd,2018. She was the wife of the late John Carpenter for over 52 years. Born on June 27th 1936 in Troy, NY she was the daughter of the late Howard Thomsen and Irene Thomsen (Daigneault). She graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 1954 and worked for Verizon until her retirement in 1991. She is survived by her children Michael Carpenter of Newport, RI, Daniel Carpenter of Albany and Lisa Carpenter of Troy, her brothers, Jack Thomsen of Schuylerville and Jerry Thomsen (Debbie) of Middle Falls, sister, Diana Gonyo (Glen) of Plattsburg as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Shirley Hunter, her brother in law Steve Hunter and her sister in law Shirley Thomsen. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 am from St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Friends are invited and may call at the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home 870 Second Ave. (124th & 125th Streets) in Lansingburgh on Sunday from 4 to 7 pm. The interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
