Ballston Spa edges Columbia in wrestling crossover

The Ballston Spa upper weights pushed the Scotties over the top at Columbia Thursday night in the Suburban Council crossover match, 41-30. Down by four points, Tyler Barnes (182) and Jake Cook (195) delivered pins and six precious points each. Columbia’s Pierce Hurd pulled the Blue Devils closer with his 10-3 decision at 220-pounds before Ballston Spa’s pin by Jake Stangle in three minutes, nine seconds sealed the match. Columbia’s Jake Edwards (152) earned a pin at 1:30.

SARATOGA 44, COLONIE 30 >>

Saratoga Springs earned the Suburban Council crossover win Thursday night with Brandt Robinson (195), Griffin Biviano (106), Jordan Sartin (113) and Eric Griskowitz (120) all earned pins in the Blue Streaks win. Frank Spatafora (152) and Ryan DiGuiseppe (160) earned major decisions for Saraotga with Devin Crowe (182) and Doug Cooper (220) earning decisions.

RAVENA 49, LASALLE 31 >>

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk came away with the win Thursday night as Dylan Wolfe (195) and Caiden Mondore (152) each earned pins for the Cadets. Ezekiel Pink earned a majority decision at 170-pounds and Nick Pino earned a 9-5 decision at 132-pounds.

SALEM- CAMBRIDGE 50, MECHANICVILLE-STILWATER 33>>

Richie Latimer (126) earned the lone pin for Mechanicville-Stillwater Thursday night with Nathan Cook (138) earning a majority decision.

BURNT HILLS 43, GUILDERLAND 41>>

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake edged Guilderland in Suburban Council crossover action Thursday night on the road. Spartans Sam Lindberg (126), Danny Jada (138), Johnny Matrazzo (145), Cole Beaudry (152) and Vincent Daviero (195) all earned wins by pinfall in the match.

ALBANY ACADEMY 24, LANSINGBURGH 18>>

With only three contested matches Thursday night, Abany Academy’s Jefferson Lamountain earned a pin at 138pounds along with teammate Drew Bogdan at 152 against Lansingburgh. Knight’s 145-pounder, Brenden Finch earned a pin at 2minutes, 48 seconds.
