TUCSON, AZ - Warren C. Bonesteel, 85, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Peppi’s House Tuscon after a brief illness. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Freeman Bonesteel and Florence Keyes Bonesteel. He was also the husband for 59 years of the late Gladys May Abbott Bonesteel. He was raised in Center Brunswick, a graduate of Lansingbur­gh High School, lived in Wynantskil­l for 50 years and spent the past 18 years in Arizona. Warren worked many years ago on the family farm in Center Brunswick, delivered milk and worked at Al-Tech Specialty Steel in Watervliet. He worked for 37 years as a tree climber and snow plow driver for New York State Department of Transporta­tion, retiring 30 years ago. He was Owner and Operator of Bonesteel’s Painting doing residentia­l and commercial painting as well as tree removal for many years. Warren was a Navy veteran stationed on the USS Belle Grove from 1951-55. He was a long time active member of the Kiwanis Club of Wynantskil­l and a member of the America Legion Post #1489 in Wynantskil­l. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his beloved children, Bruce (Mary Hummer) Bonesteel, Coeymans Hollow, Beth (Stan) Bobel, East Greenbush and Brian (Margaret Demers) Bonesteel, Wynantskil­l; his grandchild­ren, Briana, Brena and Brice Bonesteel and Amanda and Steven Bobel; a great granddaugh­ter, Bryer Rose Jackson; a sister, Doris Shaffer, Troy; a sister-in-law, Connie Bonesteel, Brunswick and several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by two brothers, Kenneth W. and William F. Bonesteel. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 9-12 PM with a funeral service to follow at 12 noon with Rev. Joy Lowenthal, officiatin­g. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie. In lieu of flowers contributi­ons may be made in memory of Warren C.
