MARION P. HERNBERG

TROY - Marion P. Hernberg, 87, of Troy passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Born in Troy on September 19, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Prudence (Miller) Luby. A lifelong resident of Troy and educated locally, Marion graduated from Troy High School, class of 1948. Mrs. Hernberg was a former city council woman for the City of Troy. She also was the director for NACT. Marion’s greatest passion was caring for others, spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for advocating for the disadvantaged and those less fortunate. Beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Hernberg, who passed away in 1980. Loving mother of the late Debbie Sherman, Joseph (Pat Brennen) Hernberg, Diane (Daniel) Cavanaugh, Judith ( Paul) Kimball, Kurt Hernberg, Marion Hernberg ( Melissa Smith) and Margaret (Anthony) Markou. Cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Dearest sister of the late Katherine Murray and Chet Luby. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 9th at St. Joseph’s Church, 416 3rd Street, South Troy, where the mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30am. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery, Troy.
