BRUNSWICK - Richard (Dick) M. Kelley, 82, died Friday, February 23, 2018, at his residence after a long illness. Born in Poultney, VT. He was son of the late Charles Kelley and Grace Marcielle Kelley and devoted husband of Joyce A. Sage Kelley. He was raised and attended school in Poultney, VT and resided in Troy, West Sand Lake and the past 18 years in Brunswick, NY. Mr. Kelley was a self employed contractor operating Albia Roofing and Siding in Troy for over 60 years. He enjoyed hunting, hanging with the guys and going to the casino. Duncan’s dairy bar was his morning run for 50 years. Another of his favorite hang outs was Christian’s Garage in Eagle Mills, NY. Dick was a strong man, hard worker, doting grandfathe­r and loyal friend, “here comes Kelley in his red hat” always lending a hand and helping others. He is survived by eight children whom he lovingly raised: Richard M. (Sue Ellen) Kelley, Jr. of Brunswick, Kimberly Kelley-Palmer of Troy, Todd Kelley of Clifton Park, Kimberly (Jacques) Lessard of Cheshire CT, Daniel (Tami) Loya of Brunswick, John Kelley of Brunswick, Lisa (Charlie) McCabe of Pittstown and Scott Kelley (Mary Nealon) of East Greenbush. He is also survived by a sister, Darlene Timms of Glens Falls; 16 grandchild­ren; 7 great grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by five siblings, Robert, Raymond, Reginald, Hazel and Gladys. The legacy Richard left behind, is the foundation of his family and provider of many. A celebratio­n of life will be held at Duncan’s Dairy Bar, 890 Hoosick Road, Troy NY on March 11, 2018 from 5 PM to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers contributi­ons may be made in memory of Richard M.
