TROYN.Y.» All are invited to gear up for St. Patrick’s Day with a new pub crawl Saturday in downtown Troy.

The first- ever St. “Practice” Day Kilt Crawl, held exactly one week before the holiday, will kick off at 2 p.m. Saturday at more than a dozen locations throughout historic downtown Troy.

Crawlers can plot their own course between participating businesses, which include Brown’s Brewing Company, Boot- legger’s on Broadway, Dinosaur BBQ Troy, Elixir 16, Franklin Alley Social Club, Muddaddy Flats, O’Brien’s Public House, Rare Form Brewing Company, Slidin’ Dirty Troy, The Bradley, The Ruck, Uncle SamLanes, Wolff’s Biergarten, River Street Pub, Shmaltz Brewing Company, and Ryan’s Wake.

Spreading the Troy spirit, several brewed-in-Troy beers will be on tap at all sites. The official event beers are Rare Form’s “Night Ride,” a dry Irish Stout and Brown’s Brewing Co. “Uncommon Porter,” a Porter with a blend of roasted coffee beans and a hint of vanilla.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear kilts while they warm up for St. Patrick’s Day during this March 10 event, presented by the Troy Craft Beer Committee in partnership with the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District.

Along with enjoying local craft brews, participants can discover new places, win prizes and support a good cause right in downtown Troy.

Funds raised through individual registration will benefit the BID’s Raise. Plant. Grow. initiative, which aims to raise funds to plant a total of 150 trees in his- toric downtown Troy.

With this joint effort, going green this St. Patrick’s Day helps Troy go green as well.

Registration for the St. “Practice” Day Kilt Crawl is a suggested donation of $5. This includes a crawl passport, with eligibility to win prizes upon completion of a visit to at least five participating businesses.
