UAlbany men retain No. 1 national ranking MEN’S DI POLL

ALBANY, N.Y. » > For the second straight week, the UAlbany men’s lacrosse team stands as the #1 ranked team in the nation.

UAlbany remains at #1 in each the United States Intercolle­giate Lacrosse Associatio­n (USILA) Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Maverik Media Poll. UAlbany has been ranked in the top- 4 in each poll all season long.

This sets up a showdown on Saturday, March 10th at noon when UAlbany takes on Maryland, ranked #2 in Inside Lacrosse weekly media poll - Week 4 School (LW) 1. Albany 3-0 (1) 2. Maryland 5-0 (2) 3. Duke 5-1 (3) 4. Denver 3-1 (5) 5. VIllanova 5-0 (7) 6. Syracuse 3-1 (12) 7. Loyola 4-1 (9) 8. Virginia 4-1 (4) 9. North Carolina 6-0 (10) 10. Yale 3-1 (11)

each poll, in College Park. UAlbany’s next two opponents are ranked: Maryland on March 10th and Vermont, #15 in each poll, on March 17th.

UAlbany and Maryland shared all possible firstplace votes in each poll. UAlbany had 10 first-place votes for 428 points in the coaches poll and 21 firstplace votes in the media poll for 648 points.

Duke, Denver and Villanova fill out the top- 5 in each poll.

UAlbany’s next game is on Tuesday as the Great Danes travel to UMass for a 3 p.m. game.
