TROY - Lena Marro Zullo, 97 entered into eternal life on March 7, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Sebatino and Victoria (Nestico) Marro and devoted wife of 65 years to the late Henry N. Zullo. Lena was educated in the Troy public school system. In her younger years, she was employed by Trojan Factory and Cluett Peabody in Troy. Lena was a communican­t of Saint Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskil­l for over 60 years. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and enjoyed her role as lunch room mother in her children’s classrooms. Lena was known for her cooking; being a proud Italian American woman, she would offer a dish of macaroni and her famous meatballs to anyone who paid a visit. Lena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Mary (Lewis) Tricarick of Troy, Nancy (Charles) Quinn of Saratoga Springs, and Victoria (Angelo) Marchetti of Manhattan. She was blessed with 8 grandchild­ren and 8 greatgrand­children who adored her. Grandchild­ren Lewis Tricarick, Anthony Tricarick, Victoria Garner, Jessica Ordon, Rebecca Britten, Ryan Quinn, Jaret Marchetti & Julia Marchetti; great-grandchild­ren Andrew, Kaileigh, Nicholas, Gianna, Maxwell, Drew, Calvin and her namesake, Little Lena; she is also survived by her nephew John Gori and sister and brother- in- law, John and Theresa Zullo along with several nieces and nephews. Lena was predecease­d by her siblings, Nicholas, Frank, Dominic, Nicolina, Rose and Rose Julian. The Zullo Family wishes to thank the staff at Diamond Ridge, her caregivers and many friends for their loving care and compassion­ate support given to their mother. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Jude the Apostle Church, Wynantskil­l where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Bocketti Funeral home, 336-3rd Street, Troy, Monday from 4 until 7 p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lena’s memory to St. Jude the Apostle Church, 43 Brookside Ave, Wynantskil­l, NY 12198 or the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
