THE EXONERATED: Soul Rebel Performanc­e Troupe performs a staged reading of “The Exonerated” at Roger Bacon Auditorium, Siena College, March 18at 1p.m. Using court transcript­s, interviews and letters, this play recounts the true stories of six Americans who were convicted and sentenced to death for crimes they did not commit. NYS WRITERS’ INSTITUTE: Patricia Smith, four-time winner and the most successful poet in the history of the National Poetry Slam, is also a playwright, essayist, professor, and journalist. Smith gives a Presentati­on/Q& A at 6 p.m., followed by an 8p.m. screening of “Louder Than a Bomb,” an award-winning documentar­y about four Chicago high school poetry teams preparing for the world’s largest youth slam.
