BRUNSWICK, N.Y. » Pioneer Bank announced this week that construction has begun on its Wynantskill branch, located at 78 Main Ave.

The branch will remain open during the renovation period, and customers will continue to have access to Pioneer’s services.

Renovations are expected to be completed this summer. The newly renovated Wynantskill Pioneer Bank branch will keep the look and feel of the bank’s recently updated branch design. The 3,324- square-foot Brunswick branch employs about 10 team members.

Renovations will include the addition of a retail shop, a coin machine, and a drive-up Interactive Teller Machine, a conve- nience that allows customers to complete transactions during the same hours that the Customer Care Center is open.

“We’re always working to make the banking experience easy for our customers,” said Pioneer Bank President and CEO Tom Amell. “Our investments in technology and improvements at the branch level ensure that our customers continue to have the access, the convenience and the availability to make their in-person banking experience as efficient and enjoyable as possible.”

Pioneer’s Interactive Teller Machine technology was introduced in 2015. The ITMfunctions much like an ATM, but allows customers to video conference with a remote Pioneer Customer Care representative.

Customers are able to complete most transactions and services available at a physical teller station, including making loan payments, deposits/ withdrawals or making account transfers.
