NYS WRITERS’ INSTITUTE (RPI): Paul Harding received the 2010Pulitz­er Prize for Fiction for “Tinkers” (2009). His second novel, “Enon” (2013), the story of one man’s enduring love for his daughter, was named a best novel of the year by The Wall Street Journal and the American Library Associatio­n. PLATAEU FARMING PRESENTATI­ON: Laughing Earth began as the Henry Morrison Farm in the late 1700s. Since that time, it has seen dramatic change in how the land was utilized and how the people lived on it. Annie and Zack Metzger will take a look at how equipment and methods have changed along with technologi­cal, societal and marketing changes. In Observance of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, April 8- 14th, the East Greenbush/Lower Rens- selaer County communitie­s are invited to participat­e in this year’s Take Back the Night Walk beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday evening, April 12, at Onderdonk Park on Hampton Manor Lake. A brief ceremony will be led by Martha Lasher-Warner, President of the Family and Friends of Liza Ellen Warner Associatio­n. She will introduce the evening’s special guests and government officials who will be joining in the walk. All in attendance will be invited to demonstrat­e their own support by joining in the mile-long walk around the lake.
