UALBANY 16, STONY BROOK 4/ UALBANY 4, STONY BROOK 3>> UAlbany baseball walks off in the bottom of the seventh in Saturday’s second game to earn a three-game series sweep against the America East’s top team, Stony Brook, regaining momentum in the conference standings. Freshman pitcher John Clayton (Glenville/ Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake H.S.) earned the start in Saturday’s opener, pitching six innings, giving up four runs on seven hits. He walked two and struck out six for the win.

“A week ago I was really worried an concerned with Stony Brook coming in,” UAlbany coach John Mueller said. “We had lost some tough games and had some things not go our way. But this weekend we really swung the bats well against a very, very good baseball team. I thought that John Clayton was tremendous today. He’s done that all year long for us, keeping us in games.” Sophomore second baseman Nick Kondo (Saratoga/Saratoga Springs H.S.) 1-for-3with two walks in the opener and returned for a 1-for-3nightcap with an RBI double.
