SPEIGLETOW­N - Eileen Reiniger Swota, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday April 22, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cohoes, she is the daughter of the late George and Regina Reiniger. Eileen graduated with honors from Catholic Central High School in 1941. She worked for Cluett Peabody (The Arrow Shirt Co.) and Time Warner Cable for many years. Eileen was a devoted member of Redeeming Love Gospel Church and often introduced herself as “Eileen on Jesus”. She For many years would visit hospital patients, cheering them up with her jokes and prayers. She also volunteere­d at nursing homes, spreading her joy by playing the piano and singing with the residents. Eileen will be missed for her quick wit and kind heart. She had many “adopted kids” that lovingly called her “Mom.” Eileen was predecease­d by her beloved husband Joseph Swota in 2003. She is survived by her children, Stephen (Kathy) Swota of Grafton, Therese Swota of Lansingbur­gh, Marilee (Steve) Vuignier and Raymond Swota of Canon City, CO; her grandchild­ren, Jennifer Scott, Kristen Richards, Jessica Swota, Ladonna Allen and Nick Swota; eight greatgrand­children; two great-great grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. A special thank you to her beloved friends, Chris McQuade and Sandy Fox and her wonderful neighbors Dennis and Maria Moore. In addition to her husband, Eileen was predecease­d by her siblings, Donald Reiniger, George Reiniger, Jr. and Bernard Reiniger, Jean Mooney, Marion Petnel and Millie Bennett. Eileen loved her dogs, Precious and Spunky, who gave her so much love and companions­hip. Calling hours for Eileen will be held on Friday April 27th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 565 Fourth Ave. Troy, NY 12182. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday April 28th at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Tom Sardella officiatin­g. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
