Popular craft fest back for sixth year

TROY, N.Y. » The popular Collar City Craft Fest is returning to downtown Troy for its sixth year, this Friday and Saturday at The Arts Center of the Capital Region.

The Collar City Craft Fest is a juried, indoor showcase of original works that features the Northeast’s top artists and craftspeop­le. Exhibitors will be showcasing and selling handmade items such as pottery, metal, fiber, jewelry, wood, photograph­y, and more.

This two- day festival will be held from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, coincide with Troy Night Out, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, coincides with the Troy Waterfront Farmers’ Market, at the Arts Center, located at 265 River St. in Troy. There will be live music, food, and refreshmen­ts on Friday evening.

Participat­ing exhibitors in the 2018 Collar City Craft Fest include Three Black Sheep, Pinewoods Potters, Lakonia Greek Products, J.C. Fine Arts, Blath- erscat Designs, Jennysparr­ow-works, Joyful Jewelry by Anne, Nancy Miller Jewelry Designs, Woodchuck Woods, Katie Nare Jewelry, Sally Rothchild pottery, Ellen Howard Handmade, Molly’s Eye, Peony & Bee, en diva artisan, Those Crafty Teachers, Liamolly, Two Son Jewelry, Salem Art Works, Pookie’s Fabrics, Comfortclo­th Weaving LLC, Estefi Jewelry, Roosevelt Grooming Company, Triple Goddess, New England Twists, R.D. Fine Art, Ali Herman, Carapace Farm Pepptry, Nini’s Sicilian Salsa, La Ruta del Sol, idontdordi­nary, Bows by Christen, Kenneth Miller Finer Art, Ulster Soaps, D.M. LeBlanc Studio, Fuzzy Gray Lines, Roosaworks, Old Bag Bags and Grab Creations.

Admission is $5 per person. All proceeds of this event benefit The Arts Center of the Capital Region, which has a mission of engaging the community in the creative experience, through sharing, experienci­ng, and creat- ing art in all its forms. The Arts Center’s classes, exhibits and programs serve 48,000 people each year, drawn from an 11-county region surroundin­g Troy.
