Event aims to raise funds for exhibits, programming
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. »
The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will host its fourth annual Kentucky Derby party fundraiser this weekend for the 143rd Kentucky Derby.
The party will take place from 3:30 to 7 p.mSaturday, May 5, at the museum, located at 191 Union Ave. in Saratoga Springs, near the Saratoga Race Course.
“If you can’t be at Churchill Downs for the Derby, the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame is the place to be to watch the Run for the Roses,” said Brien Bouyea, the museum’s communications director. “Derby day at the Museum delivers all the pageantry and excitement of the Kentucky experience with a Saratoga stamp on it. The Museum’s Derby party is always one of the premier events on the Saratoga social calendar and we are really excited for this year’s event.”
The event will feature samplings from a variety of breweries, distilleries and wineries, as well as signature Kentucky-inspired dishes from competing local restaurants.
While exploring the museum, party-goers can enjoy live musical entertainment by Rich Ortiz in the Hall of Fame and The East End Boys in the Sculpture Gallery.
Coverage of the Kentucky Derby pre-show will be available throughout the museum before a live airing of the Kentucky Derby.
Representatives from XpressBet will be on hand to give guests the opportunity to bet on the Kentucky Derby and other races via smart phones and tablets.

A classic photo booth sponsored by Fusion the Salon, will be on- site for guests to capture their Derby Daymemories.
All proceeds from the event will support the museum’s educational mission and allow for year-round exhibits and programming.
