‘Toga girls lax drops Shen 19-8

SARATOGA 19, SHENENDEHO­WA 8>> There may not be a better way to celebrate senior night than with a decisive win over your rival as the Blue Streaks dropped the Plainsmen, 19-8 under the lights Monday night on the football field. Katie Silver was golden, popping in four goals and two assists on the night with Katie Wendell scoring the hat trick and adding five assists. Jackie Sauer, Ella Payer, Reilly Hogan, Sylvie Waters each scored a pair of goals with Lindsey Frank earning highlight reel honors with one of her two goals fired in behind her head into the goal. Shenendeho­wa’s Jenna Graf scored the hat trick for the Plainsmen with Mekenzie Ballard and Olivia Howard each tallying two goals each.

CATHOLIC CENTRAL 7, EMMA WILLARD 6>> Morgan Kane’s three goals weren’t enough to carry the Jesters past the Crusaders Monday afternoon as six different Catholic Central players found the back of the cage. Hannah Field led the Crusaders with two goals and two assists. BALLSTON SPA 10, SHAKER 2>> Grace Thompson connected four times Monday afternoon, including a pair of doubles with six RBI against the Shaker defense and Sarah Pritchard added three hits as the Scotties kept adding to it’s early one-run lead late courtesy of 17hits as a squad. Megan McMahon, Angelina Stile, Caroline Srokowski and Alison Sgambati with two hits each. Sarah Pritchard went the distance, giving up six hits, a walk and striking out five.

Over the weekend Ballston Spa earned a 9-0win over Cicero-North Syracuse and a close 3-2win over Oneida in eight innings. SHENENDEHO­WA 15, ALBANY 0>> Ava Caputo was lights out in the circle for Shenendeho­wa, striking out six batters in five innings of work as her offense buoyed her with a 15-run outing. Emily Carool went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI, Megan Gillooley was 2-for-4with four runs scored and four RBI in the lead-off spot. Hannah Garret was 2-for-3with a run scored and two RBI alng with Alexis Garrison’s 2-for3two run afternoon. WATERFORD-HALFMOON 5, BERLIN 1>> Emily Kelly was stellar in the circle, striking out 10batters in seven innings of work Monday, going the distance. She added two RBI’s for her own cause with Bailey Thibodeau adding on two hits. Berlin’s B. Caitlin was strong too, striking out 12in the loss. MECHANICVI­LLE 3, HOOSICK FALLS; 2>> Lilly Noyes led the Red Raiders with two singles and two RBIs Monday afternoon with Lea Hickey hitting three singles in the win. Alivia Wood earned the win in relief with her five strikeouts. GREENWICH 8, STILLWATER 0>> Greenwich’s Courtney Fraher drilled a three-run home run and a single in the win with Devin Drew hitting a double, single and driving in a run in the five-inning contest. GUILDERLAN­D 13, TROY 5>> Guilderlad jumped out to an early lead and rolled past Troy High, 13-5Monday afternoon. Holding onto a 6-1lead, the Flying Horses plated four runs of their own in the top half of the fourth inning before the Dutchmen pulled away with foour runs in the fifth and three in the sixth. Guilderlan­d’s Jake Hernan- dez and Max Gebauer each hit home runs.

Troy’s Matthew Ashley went 2-for-4on the day. ALBANY ACADEMY 19, WATERVLIET 0>> Albany Academy’s John Decker went 4-for-4 with a triple and two doubles against Watervliet Monday afternoon. Teammate Isaiah Umoh hit an home run and had a double on the day with Ben Mason stroking three triples as Brett Young added his own triple and Danny Moshier and E.J. Birch both hitting doubles in the win. COLUMBIA 17, AVERILL PARK 2>> The Blue Devils broke out for three runs in the bottom half of the first inning before adding four more in the second and plating seven runs in the fourth for the sizeable lead. Brandon Ostiguy went 3-for-3with a run scored and three RBI for Columbia. Matt LaHara and Danny Watson both hit home runs in the lopsided win. Stephen Blydenburg­h worked the plate, earning four walks on the day and scoring three times. TAMARAC 5, HOOSIC VALLEY >> A three-run fifth inning gave the Bengals just enough to hang on, surviving a two-run rally by Hoosic Valley in the top of the seventh inning. Jake Scharnott went 2-for-4with two runs scored, including two doubles. Dalton Maxon was 1-for-4but made it count with a solo home run as Ryan Derby and Nate LaPlante went 2-for-3with an RBI. Brandon Haughney went 1-for-2with two runs scored and an RBI for Hoosic Valley. Justin Sawyer and Ethan Caiazza both went 1-for-3with an RBI. MECHANICVI­LLE 1, HOOSICK FALLS 0>> The Red Raiders scored first and made it stand Monday afternoon as Rocco DeVito went 4-for-4and scored the game-winning run. Nick Billert went 2-for-3with an RBI and Jacob Popiel went 5and 1⁄3-innings on the mound, striking out eight. Jacob LaFountain came on in relief, striking out four. Hoosick Falls’ Sam Richard and Zack Morine went 1-for-2. Brandon Decker was on the bump, giving up the lone run and striking out six. WATERFORD-HALFMOON 25, BERLIN 1>> Thirteen wasn’t an unlucky number as the Fordians plated 13 runs in the second inning in Monday’s walkover Berlin. Connor Houle went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI, Michael Talavera went 2-for-5with three runs and five RBI. Mike Castracani went 2-for-3with five runs and three RBI. SHAKER 6, BALLSTON SPA 4>> A two-run fifth inning gave Shaker all the runs they needed to topple Ballston Spa in Suburban Council action Monday. Ballston Spa’s Luke Gold went 3-for-4with a solo home run, scoring twice in the loss. Donovan Rhoden went 1-for-3with a run and two RBI. For Shaker, Andrew Inglee went 1-for-2 with a run and two RBI. SHENENDEHO­WA 6, ALBANY 1>> A four-run fifth inning powered the Plainsmen past the Falcons Monday afternoon. Plainsmen Regan Farley earned the win, pitching six innings, scattering four hits, giving up one earned run while walking a batter and striking out seven. Evan Jones went 2-for-2with a run scored and Griffin Wallner went 2-for-3with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. CBA 11, NISKAYUNA 3 >> Adam Zebrowski went 3-for-4with two RBI in the win with Peter O’Toole going 2-for-4with two RBI in the win. Tim Schaffer knocked in two runs for Niskayuna. SARATOGA SPRINGS 5, SCHENECTAD­Y 2>> A four-run fourth inning gave the Blue Streaks the lead and eventual win Monday afternoon over Schenectad­y. John Irons led Saratoga with his 2-for-3day with a walk, Brian Hart went 1-for-3with two runs scored. Dan Eaton went 1-for-3with two RBI. Quinn Jones earned the complete game win, going seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He walked two batters and struck out eight. COLONIE 5, BURNT HILLS 2>> Colonie saved its best for last, the bottom of the sixth inning Monday, scoring all five runs to earn the Suburban Council win. Ryan McGee went 2-for-3 with a run for the Garnet Raiders. Aaron Goessler went 1-for-3with a double and three RBI, Jake Hutton also stroked a double during his 1-for-3day with two runs knocked in. Burnt HillsBalls­ton Lake’s Jeremy Clayton went 1-for-3with a solo home run and Robert Forlano went 1-for-3with a run scored and an RBI. SOUTH GLENS FALLS 4, GLENS FALLS 3>> Justin Nesbitt hit the game-tying triple with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning, driving in the gamewinnin­g run for the Bulldogs Monday afternoon. Rece McClements went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI for the Indians with Will Florio going 2-for-4. David Cohen went 1-for-2with a run scored for South Glens Falls.
