To submit an item, e-mail sports@troyrecord.com. 21st annual RPI Football golf tournament: The 21st annual event will be held at Frear Park Golf Course, Saturday, May 12, a four-person scramble with an 11a.m. check-in/ lunch and a noon shot gun start. Dinner and prizes to follow. Cost for 18-holes of golf, cart, lunch, dinner and prizes is $140per golfer. Tickets for the 2018Hall of Fame Classic: scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend, are on sale now for participants in the museum’s Membership Program and are on sale to the general public online and via phone. Hall of Fame members Rollie Fingers, Randy Johnson, Phil Niekro, Tim Raines and Ozzie Smith will be joined by an additional Hall of Famer and recently retired players representing all 30major league teams for a seven-inning legends game on Saturday, May 26at Cooperstown’s historic Doubleday Field. Tickets will be available via phone at 1-877-726-9028 or at baseballhall.org. Tickets for the Hall of Fame Classic are $12.50for first and third base seats and $11for general admission outfield seats. Sage Athletics calling for Hall of Fame nominations for the 2018: The event will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018and the department is calling for nominations for the class. Nominees to the Sage Athletic Hall of Fame must be former student-athletes, coaches, staff members or administrators. Former student athletes become eligible for induction five years after the completion of their undergraduate studies at Sage. All other candidates are eligible at any time during or after their service at Sage. Nominees will have excelled as student-athletes and/or as members of the Sage community. Additional consideration will be given to those that have served Sage and their profession with distinction and integrity.
