MICHAEL P. BERGHELA JR.

BRUNSWICK - Michael P. Berghela Jr., 72, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born in Albany, NY on September 19, 1945 to the late Michael and Antoinette Berghela. Mike served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service he went on to work as a steel worker for Local Union 12 for over 30 years. In 1971 Mike married the love of his life, Sherry Hale. Together they raised three sons. Mike was a member of the local VFW, and the Vice President of the Flying Knights Model Aircraft Club. Mike is predeceased by his beloved son, Nicholas C. Berghela. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Berghela, his sons, Michael Berghela III, and Patrick Berghela, and his sisters, Grace Dunigan, and Angela Smith. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 4:00pm7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 310 Spring Ave, Troy, NY 12180, on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 10:00am. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
