JOSEPH PAUL MCAVOY-MALONEY

TROY - Joseph Paul McAvoy-Maloney, 40, of Troy, passed into eternal life suddenly on Tuesday morning at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Joey was born in Troy and was the son of Edwin Maloney and the late Mary Palmitier McAvoy. Joey attended Troy High School and was employed at the Collar City Tile Works of Troy. He loved playing basketball and watching all sports on television. Joey was a diehard Steelers fan. But mostly he loved spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his father he is also survived by his daughter Brooke Hiltz and his siblings Laurie Kombert, Edward (Susan) McAvoy, Christina McAvoy, Cheri McAvoy, Linda McAvoy, Randy McAvoy-Maloney, and Brian McAvoy-Maloney ( fiancee Sarah Yatema). Joey is also survived by his step-siblings Lisa Bruno, David and Jesse Scott, and his niece Kyleigh McAvoy. Joey is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral service for Joey will be held on Friday afternoon at 1 PM at The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy with Deacon Charles Wojton officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Friday from 10 AM until 1PM. Interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Troy.
