WYNANTSKIL­L - Edward “Ed” T. Glogowski, 95, passed away peacefully May 21, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Glogowski and the husband of 72 years of Clara (Cazasta) Glogowski. Ed was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II. He earned the Purple Heart, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four bronze stars, Army Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the Sharpshoot­er Carbine Medal. He was employed for many years at the Watervliet Arsenal as a crane operator. Ed was formerly a participan­t in a prison ministry and also a prayer group for residents at Van Rensselaer Manor as well as an avid hunter, gardener, and square dancer. He was a lover of dogs. Ed was a devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r and great grandfathe­r, and was generous with his time for whomever needed his help. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his children, Mark (Lorry), David (Gail), Phil (Karen) and Wayne (Chris) Glogowski; nine grandchild­ren; eight great grandchild­ren; a sister, Rose Madlin; a brother, Frank Glogowski; a sister-in- law, Florence Glogowski; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was predecease­d by nine brothers and sisters and by a daughter-in-law, Mimi Pendergast Glogowski. The funeral will be held Thursday at 12:15 p.m. at the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Ave. at Parkview Court, Troy where Pastor Ian Gillen and his wife Ella will preside. Inurnment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylervi­lle on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
