TROY - Millicent Monica Malone, 95, entered into the loving arms of our Lord on Monday, May 28th surrounded by her family and friends. Millicent was born in Troy, NY on March 20, 1923 to the late Arthur and Millicent (Chatfield) Comeau. She is survived by her loving family: her devoted husband of 73 years, Thomas J. Malone and her two daughters, Patricia (William) Kehn and Joan (Charles) Flynn; her sister Joan Long; and grandchild­ren, Daniel Kehn; Marcy (Brian) Pickert; Kelly (Gerald) Pasinella; Charles Flynn; Patricia (Jason) Adams; Erin (Matthew) Ingold; and Christophe­r (Dianne) Flynn; her great grandchild­ren: Eva Pickert, Aidan Pickert, Alex Flynn, Devin Flynn, Sienna Adams, Lilly Adams, Hannah Flynn, and Charlie Flynn as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her sisters Edna (Howard) Moore; Trudy (Joseph) Pelcher; Irma Zangrando; and her brother Paul Comeau. Millicent was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and Troy Business School. The oldest of six children, she spent her early years and young adulthood helping to care for her younger siblings and was the business manager for her father’s bakery. After her marriage in 1945, she stayed home to care for her daughters. She was an avid reader, loved golf, and took great joy in spending time with her family. Along with her husband Tom, she especially enjoyed summers at their camp in Babcock Lake and their winter visits to West Palm Beach, Florida. She will be remembered always for her wisdom, faith, patience, grace, and generosity, and for her impeccable style and love of laughter. Her kind and gentle spirit was always there to listen and give advice, and her unconditio­nal love for her family will be treasured and remain always with us. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Community Hospice and Tara Mooradian for their unwavering support, and to the wonderful staff at The Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center who gave such special care to Millicent during her stay. Her funeral mass will be Thursday at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Avenue, Troy. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church prior to the mass on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 am.
