TROY - Harry R. Feathers, 95, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Eddy Village Green Cohoes after a long illness. Born in Troy, he was son of the late Burton W. Feathers and Anna Phoenix Feathers and husband of the late Dorothy Ann Hafner Feathers (formerly of South Carolina). He had resided in the Troy area all his life, for many years on Westover Road and was a graduate of Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach, Florida. Harry was a self made man and an entreprene­ur. In the mid 50’s, he began Feathers Furniture on River Street and 101st in Lansingbur­gh, which later moved to Hoosick Road in Brunswick until it’s closing in 2014. Harry enjoyed investing in cars, stock and real estate. He was a World War II veteran of the Navy stationed in Guam. He was a longtime active member of the Lansingbur­gh Rotary. Survivors include five daughters, Betsy Olivia (David) Cornell, Rochester, Ann (Bruno) Salvalaggi­o, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Mary Jane (Joel) Johnson, Seattle, WA, Karen Goudas, Troy and JoLeigh (Dan) Yamin, Troy; a son, Rob (Michele) Feathers, West Sand Lake; a sister, Mary Bielas, Brunswick; 11 grandchild­ren, 7 great grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 10AM-12 Noon with a service at Noon with Pastor Jim Zegers, officiatin­g. Interment will be in Albany Rural Mausoleum Menands. In lieu of flowers contributi­ons may be made in memory of Harry R.
