COHOES COLOR RUN: On Saturday, June 9, at 10 a.m. the Cohoes Elementary Schools (Abram Lansing School, Harmony Hill and Van Schaick ) along with the Cohoes Middle School will host the Third Annual Color Run fundraiser, with all proceeds to benefit the PTA/PTO Organizations in each school. The event will be held at the Cohoes High School, 1Tiger Circle, beginning at 10a.m. Participants are invited to run, skip cartwheel or walk through the course and get blasted with myriads of color dust in the process. GRANT COTTAGE: Author Ronald C. White will deliver the David H. Porter Memorial Lecture at Grant Cottage, 100Mt. McGregor Road in Wilton, on Saturday, June 9at 3p.m. Entitled “Ulysses S. Grant: A New Vision for the American Leadership” and based on his best-selling biography, “American Ulysses: A Life of Ulysses S. WALK FOR HOSPICE:
The Community Hospice will hold its 17th Annual WALK for Hospice to benefit patients with serious illness and their families on Saturday, June 9, from 9a.m. – noon (check-in begins at 9 a.m.; walk kicks off at 10:30 a.m.; lunch at 11a.m.) at Siena College, 515Loudon Road., Albany. CAPITAL DISTRICT HUMANIST SOCIETY: Olga Z. Porterfield, who is a member of CDHS, was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. In 1979at the age of 20, Olga left her home hoping to build a better life. She came to the US as a refugee alone because her parents were refused exit visas. FREE OUTDOOR YOGA CLASSES: Kripalu Yoga practice will be guided by Kathleen Fisk, Kripalu Yoga Instructor and owner of In Harmony Yoga Studio, 137 Remsen Street, Cohoes. MILHAM PLANETARIUM: Williams College invites you to experience the wonders of our universe at the Milham Planetarium, located inside the Old Hopkins Observatory.
