MILHAM PLANETARIUM: Williams College invites you to experience the wonders of our universe at the Milham Planetarium, located inside the Old Hopkins Observatory. ST. JEAN BAPTISTE DAY: Saint-Jean Baptiste Day is a national holiday in Quebec, brought to Canada by French settlers and celebrated on June 24. La Fédération Franco-Américaine du NY will celebrate the feast of St. John the Baptist with a mass on Sunday, June 24, at 3:30p.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 119 Broad Street, Waterford. The celebrant will be Father Jeffery L’Arche officiating the mass in English and French with a choir singing French hymns. The public is invited. SCHODACK ISLAND STATE PARK: Explore Schodack Creek from 1p.m. – 4p.m. on June 24and discover a large, undeveloped floodplain, wetland ecosystem that is rare on the Hudson River. Paddle with the River Haggie and staff naturalist from Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve and learn about tidal marsh ecology, Hudson River research, and challenges facing estuarine habitats. STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL: Strawberry shortcake star ats the Thirty-seventh Annual Strawberry Festival on Sunday, June 24, under tents at Gardner’s Ice Cream and Coffee Shop, 15879 NY Route 22in Stephentown. This fund-raiser for the Stephentown Historical Society runs from 11a.m. to 4p.m. Strawberries will be served on sponge cake or home-baked biscuits with whipped cream, or with ice cream for sundaes.
