BARKER PARK: Barker Park’s Summer Series celebrates local superheroes. The series kicks off on July 5with a visit from the Troy Police and Fire departments. The Fire Department will bring one of the big rigs and children will have a chance to get up close! Joining them will be members of the Troy Police Department. Children will get to look at a police car and bike, and they might get a visit from the K9 officer. 11a.m. at the corner of State and Third streets in downtown Troy. MILHAM PLANETARIUM: Williams College invites you to experience the wonders of our universe at the Milham Planetarium, located inside the Old Hopkins Observatory. Astronomy students at the college will host free shows for the public on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 8 p.m. beginning on June 5and running through August 9. Audiences will be treated to shows from the high-precision Zeiss Skymaster ZKP3/B opto-mechanical planetarium projector. Each show lasts approximately 50minutes. Explore the trails with our educators on a series of interpretive walks throughout the park. This week, experience views into the Hudson-Mohawk Valley and learn about the geologic processes that shaped the valley on the Escarpment Trail. NORTH BENNINGTON OUTDOOR SCULPTURE SHOW: The 21st Annual North Bennington Outdoor Sculpture Show will host the opening party for this year’s exhibition on Saturday, July 7, from 4p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Vermont Arts Exchange campus, 48Main Street (next door to the Post Office and across the street from the North Bennington Train Depot) and will feature music by Mark Legrand and his Pick Up Band.
