Halfmoon, NY Elizabeth “Betty” Halfmoon, NY Elizabeth “Betty” Betts, 80, entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Saratoga Center for Rehabilita­tion and Skilled Nursing in Ballston Spa.. She was born on August 2, 1937 in Halfmoon, NY and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy “Betty” Van Hoesen DeVoe. She was the first class to graduate from Shenendeho­wa High School in 1954 and was a lifelong resident of Halfmoon. Betty was a home maker. She was a communican­t of St. Mary’s Church Crescent and St. Mary of Assumption in Waterford. She was a member of the West Crescent Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. She derived great pleasure in being a leader with Girl Scouts of America of the Hudson Valley where she impacted the lives of many young girls. She is predecease­d by her beloved husband, Howard W. Betts and children Howard Betts, Jr and Mary Elizabeth Habla and brothers Arthur (Shirley) DeVoe and Jack DeVoe. She is survived by her children Beverly Jeanne (Kip) Betts of Halfmoon, Maureen (Frank) Mancini of Clifton Park, Bonnie Jean (Raymond) Roes of Cobleskill, Wesley (Dana) Betts of Halfmoon, Bruce Jon (Christine) Betts of Halfmoon, and son in law Robert Habla of Fonda, NY. Sister-in-law of William (Beverly) Betts of Halfmoon, Edward (Louise) Betts of Halfmoon and Ellen (Ted) Shippey of Clifton Park, Nikki DeVoe She is also survived by eight grandchild­ren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Crescent 86 Churchill Road, Waterford, NY. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2- 4 & 6-8 PM in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home 1550 Route 9 Clifton Park, NY Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
