Colleen R. Rafter, Esq. obit Fitzgerald FH 518-2377666 Cohoes: Colleen R. Rafter, Esq. of McElwain Ave in Cohoes passed away Saturday June 30 at Albany Medical Center embraced by her loving family. Born on June 30, 1959 in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Veronica R. Stewart Rafter, Sr., Esq. Colleen was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Hudson Valley Community College, College of St. Rose, Albany Law School in 1989 and passed the NYS Bar, in 1991 and received her law license. She was self employed as an attorney working with her father at the Rafter & Rafter law firm; she also worked for the Association of the Blind and Legal Aid. She loved all animals, providing a caring home for them at any cost. She is survived by her siblings, Timothy J. (Diane, Esq.) Rafter of Troy, Joseph B .Rafter, Jr. of Cohoes, Dawn M. (William C.) Lennen, MD of VA and Shawn Rafter of Troy, nieces and nephews; Kristine (David) Fernandez, Jessica Rafter, Nathan Rafter, Ryan Lennen, Kathleen Lennen, Liam Lennen, great nephews; David (Rebecca) Jr., Andrew, and Devin Fernandez, her companion Thomas Fezza along with aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Kevin M. Rafter. Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd 105 Vliet Blvd Cohoes, Friday morning, July 6 at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh at 11:00.
