Three charged with driving while intoxicate­d

TROY, N.Y. >> State police in Brunswick arrested three people for driving while intoxicate­d this past weekend.

On Friday afternoon, Troopers arrested 55-year- old Randolph J. Hayward of Schaghtico­ke for aggravated Driving While Intoxicate­d. Police said Hayward was operating a vehicle on Northern Drive in Troy and was stopped for not wearing his seatbelt. While being interviewe­d by the Trooper, police said, Hayward showed signs of intoxicati­on. He failed sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Police said Hayward was processed at the Brunswick bar- racks where his blood alcohol level was found to be .19%. A DMV check revealed Hayward’s license is suspended and he had a prior conviction for DWI, police said. He was arraigned in Troy Police Court and released to Rensselaer County Probation. He is to reappear in court at a later date.

On Saturday morning, state police said they arrested 24-year- old Michaela R. Cleveland of Corinth for Driving While Intoxicate­d. Police said Cleveland was operating a vehicle on Hoosick Street in Troy when she was stopped for at traffic offense. Cleveland showed signs of intoxicati­on while being interviewe­d by the Trooper, police said. She failed sobriety tests and was taken into custody. She was processed at the Brunswick barracks where her blood alcohol content was found to be .11%, police said. Cleveland was issued tickets and released to a third party. She is scheduled to appear in Troy Police Court at a later date.

Then on Sunday night, state police said they arrested 43-year- old Jennifer L. Bilka of Cohoes for Driving While Intoxicate­d.

According to a news release, a Trooper was called to Aqua Vista Campground off of State Route 22 in Petersburg­h for a report of a car accident. Police said the Trooper located the car, which had driven over an embankment near the campground.

Police then located Bilka a short distance away and said she admitted to driving the car. Police said Bilka was not injured. Police said that she did show signs of intoxicati­on and subsequent­ly failed sobriety tests.

Bilka was processed at the Brunswick barracks where her blood alcohol level was found to be .09%, police said. She was issued tickets and released to a third party. Bilka is scheduled to appear in the Town of Petersburg­h Court at a later date.
