Police cite man for burglaries
WATERVLIET, N.Y. » City police have arrested a man they say is responsible for a number of burglaries.
According to Watervliet Police, Richard T. Hall, 29, ais facing two felony counts of burglary as well as criminal mischief, larceny, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
Police said that on July 9, Hall broke into a residence in the area of 6th Street and 5th Avenue through an open window and stole electronics and money.
Hall was observed a short time later by officers, who said he was in possession of stolen property. He was arrested after a foot pursuit.
According to police, on the morning of July 7 around 8:30 a.m. Hall broke into a house on 25th Street near 7th Avenue. He fled after being confronted by the homeowner.
Police said Hall was sentenced to serve six years in prison for a 2013 burglary in Watervliet, and was released to the supervision of NYS Parole in June. A parole warrant was recently issued for Hall for not reporting to parole as required.
Police said there may be more charges forthcoming.
