Cops: 2 arrested after home invasion
BETHLEHEM, N.Y. » A pair of Troy men are facing charges after a home invasion Wednesday, police said.
Jevon I. Johnson, 18, and LaTae D. Wells, 21, were charged with first- degree robbery, second- degree robbery, first- degree criminal use of a firearm and first- degree burglary.
Bethlehem police said on Wednesday, at about 4:54 p. m., officers responded to a report of an armed home i nvasion on Orchard Street in Delmar. It was reported that suspects had entered the house and attempted to steal property, and in the process displayed what appeared to be a semiautomatic firearm. The suspects did steal United States Currency from the victim, police said. The victim at the residence was uninjured during the incident.
The suspects fled the scene in a silver pick-up truck, police said. Through investigation the suspect vehicle was
located and stopped in the City of Troy by Troy Police, about two hours after the initial robbery, police said. Johnson and Wells were then arrested, police said.
The pair were arraigned in the Town Court and sent to the Albany County Jail without bail. A preliminary hearing was set for Monday, July 23rd at 9 a.m. in Bethlehem Court.
