Found guilty of manslaughter
ALBANY, N.Y. » A 23-year- old Troy man is set to spend the next 25 years in state prison for his role in the death of an infant.
Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced on Friday that David Bridges was sentenced in Albany County Supreme Court to the maximum allowable sentence of 25 years in state prison, for his role in the death of one-year- old Luka Patrick.
On May 30, 2018, Bridges was found guilty after a jury trial of one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class B Felony, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, a Class A Misde-
meanor.
On February 6, 2017, at a residence on South Allen Street in the City of Albany, officials said that Bridges caused the death of the infant that was left in his care.
Co- defendant Rebecca Patrick, 22, of Albany, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, each Class A Misdemeanors, and is awaiting sentencing.
Officials said Patrick knowingly engaged in conduct in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental, or moral welfare of the same one-yearold infant between the dates of December 14, 2016 and February 6, 2017.
Special Victims Unit Bureau Chief Shannon Sarfoh and Assistant District Attorney Jennifer McCanney handled the prosecution of the case.
