Police cite park goers
Issue traffic, and criminal citations
GRAFTON, N.Y. » The New York State Park Police and New York State Police from Zone One conducted an “occupant safety check” in the Grafton Lakes State Park on Saturday. Police noted instances of two children sharing a single seatbelt, children with no safety restraints at all and even one child sitting on the floor of a car. Over the course of the checkpoint, 45 tickets were issued for child safety restraint violations.
State Police car seat technicians conducted 18 child car seat inspections to ensure that the seats were installed correctly.
In addition to the traffic tickets, the following arrests were made:
• Kee Naing, 37, of Albany for Driving While Intoxicated. Naing had three children in his car and was additionally charged with three counts of Aggravated DWI- Child in Vehicle ( known as “Leandra’s Law”) and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Naing was ordered to appear in the Grafton Town Court on Aug. 21.
• Paige King, 26, of Watervliet for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. King will answer her charges in the Grafton Town Court on Aug. 21.
• Kody Rivette, 27, of Schaghticoke, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Unlawful Posses- sion of Marijuana . Rivette will appear in the Grafton Town Court on Aug. 14.
• Jaime Seaton, 31, of Troy for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana . Seaton was issued an appearance ticket, returnable Aug. 14 in the Grafton Town Court.
• Lillian Lopez, 34, of Troy for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana . Lopez was issued an appearance ticket, returnable Aug. 14 in the Grafton Town Court.
• Breanna Jones, 21, of Watervliet for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana . Jones was issued an appearance ticket, return- able Aug. 14 in the Grafton Town Court.
• Timothy Piche, 31 of Troy for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana . Piche was issued an appearance ticket, returnable Aug. 14 in the Grafton Town Court.
• Shawn Storm, 37, of Waterford for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana . Storm was issued an appearance ticket, returnable Aug. 14 in the Grafton Town Court.
• Calvin Sanders III, 24, of Troy for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana . Sanders was issued an ap- pearance ticket, returnable Aug. 14 in the Grafton Town Court.
• Bazel Almontaser, 21, of Troy for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana . Almontaser was issued an appearance ticket, returnable Aug. 14 in the Grafton Town Court.
