SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Local business Pig ‘NWhistle will soon open its doors on Broadway with a second location.

The family- owned and operated restaurant is expanding to downtown Saratoga Springs with a new spot set to open at 5 p.m. on Monday at 392 Broadway, in the former location of Circus Cafe.

Pig ‘ N Whistle At The Grove, the company’s original location in Burnt Hills, was first opened in 2012 by owner Todd Bush.

Now, six years later, Todd’s son Jordan Bush is bringing the family business to Saratoga Springs with a second restaurant location on the city’s main corridor.

“I love Saratoga. It’s my favorite place on the planet,” Bush said on why he chose to branch out there, an endeavor accomplished with the help of new business partner Scott Solomon.

While the Pig ‘ N Whistle At The Grove has a rustic feel to it, Bush said the new Broadway spot aims to be more modern/authentic.

“We want to bring a different flare to Saratoga,” said Bush, who is eager to open the restaurant to guests.

Bush’s idea for the new business is to offer “a different type of Irish flare,” he said. “We want it to be a place where everybody can come.”

Whether a customer is in sweatpants or a suit and tie, Bush wants them to feel comfortable at Pig ‘NWhistle - which is why the word “Fáilte,” the Gaelic word for “welcome” - is written in stone at the restaurant’s entrance.

Other additions the owners have made to the space over the past few weeks include installing Celtic decor, a lounge area, nine televisions (including two 70inch screens) and 10 draft system lines. “Everything in here is brand spankin new,” Bush said.

Pig ‘N Whistle on Broadway will serve Irish-American fare, with a focus on burgers, along with some Irish pub staples like fish and chips, bangers and mash, and shepherd’s pie. Corned beef and cabbage will be featured specifically on the 17th of every month.

“Every day there’s going to be something different,” Bush said, promising new food and drink specials daily. “You’re not going to come into the same thing every day.”

While it’s opening in the height of track season at Saratoga Race Course when many out-of-towners are visiting, “We want to ca- ter to the locals,” Bush said. “Wewant all of our locals to know that they always have a place to come.”

Looking ahead to the future, Bush said his goal for the expanding Pig ‘NWhistle brand is to have an additional location open in the next year or so.

After Monday, Pig ‘ N Whistle on Broadway will be open for lunch and din- ner seven days a week. Happy hour will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
