HONOR A DECEASED VETERAN: The Rensselaer County Honor a Deceased Veteran Program honors Thomas E. Hendry, Jr. at this month’s ceremony at 8:30a.m. on September 10 in the Legislativ­e Chambers, Third Floor of the County Office Building, located at 1600Sevent­h Avenue, Troy. Thomas served in the United States Army during WWII as a Truck Driver, Infantryma­n and Mortar Crew Chief throughout the European Theater, receiving received numerous honors and awards including a Purple Heart, a Bronze Battle Star, The American Theater Medal, The European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal, The Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
