FLORENCE C. ALBER DALY
Troy - Florence C. Alber Daly, 95, passed away September 2, 2018 after a short illness. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Rose E. (Link) Alber and the wife of the late Thomas F. Daly III. Florence attended St. Francis de Sales School and graduated from School 14 and Troy High School, where she was proud to have written the class song for the class of 1941. She had been employed by the Rensselaer County Superintendent of Buildings and had been the secretary for Daly Plumbing and Heating. Florence was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, knitting, working on crafts, traveling, bowling and celebrating family events and holidays. A communicant of Sacred Heart Church, she had been a member of the former Women’s Club. Florence was also a member of the Eastside Senior Citizens, Burchkill Arts and Crafts, Hi Way Bowl, and was a 4H leader. Survivors include six children, Tom (Teresa) Daly, Kathy (Chuck) Testo, Rita Daly, Florence (Jim) Albarelli, Jean (Nick) Cioffi and Larry Daly; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Norman and William Alber. The family wishes to thank the physicians, nurses and staff at Samaritan Hospital ER, ICU and PCU, especially Dr. Karatnycky. The funeral will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Ave., Troy and at 11:00 at Sacred Heart Church, Troy where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
