SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » For the past couple of weeks people have been able to tour several different homes throughout Saratoga County, as part of the 23rd annual Saratoga Showcase of Homes.

Officials said the Saratoga Showcase of Homes is produced by the Saratoga Builders Association, a non-profit, specialized professional trade organization representing the local building industry.

Event organizers said the tours featuring 13 newly built homes features and displays the latest in building techniques and products, interior decorations, as well as high- quality furnishings and fixtures from some of the area’s top suppliers and designers.

The builders participating in this year’s showcase event include Bella Homes, Belmonte Builders, Blitman Development, Bonacio Construction, Caruso Home Builders, Heritage Custom Builders, Kodiak Construction, La Femme Home Builders, Malta Development, The Earth Source Company, The Form Collaborative & Witt Construction.

ued this past weekend and will end after next weekend. Officials said thousands of people go through the homes throughout the three weekends of the tours.

Builders who participated in the event in 2018 said that they believe that the tours help for them to be able to get feedback on their work and that it also helps to market their work more.

“It’s been a really great experience, it’s nice welcoming all of these people into the house and getting to know what they think and meeting potential clients,” said Ross Kenyon, of the Earth Source Company, which he runs with his wife Anu Krishnan-Kenyon. The Kenyon’s were showcasing a home that is not on the market yet that they built this year, located at 43 Doten Ave.

“[ It’s nice] to showcase our work and show what makes us kind of a little different than the other houses,” added Lisa Breen of La Femme Home Builders, who was showcasing a house located at 30 Joseph St. and another one at 80 Brown St.

People who toured the Doten Avenue and Joseph Street locations said that they were impressed with the two houses, and that they enjoy looking at the different houses so that they can get ideas for their own homes.

“This [ house] is great, it’s very deceiving, there is a lot of room, it’s beautiful,” said Saratoga resident Joe Dorflinger, as he was doing a self-guided tour at the Doten Avenue location.

“[ We wanted] to see the different trends in building, construction, different designs and where the area is going as far as the homes and styles,” added Ken Curley, while he was touring the home on Joseph Street. “We have a home, so it’s just as far as doing upgrades and changes to our current house and it’s good to see what everybody is doing with the trends.”
