Yourch’s two goals clinched Saratoga Field Hockey’s win Monday

FIELD HOCKEY

SARATOGA 5, COLUMBIA 0 - Hunter Yourch scored two goals in the first half to power Saratoga into halftime with the 2- 0 lead. Yourch’s offense was all Saratoga needed to clinch the win. The three goal second half was insurance. Hailey Waghom, Olivia Vukelic, and Molly Russell each scored in the latter half. Columbia goalie Maddy Hogan made nine saves.

HOOSICK FALLS 2, WARRENSBUR­G 1 (OT) - Hoosick Falls’ overtime win Monday comes thanks to Ayla Fauler’s game winning goal at 4:39 in OT. Lillian Hickey scored the first Hoosick Falls’ goal in the second half and Warrensbur­g’s Abigail Ranous folowed that up shortly after to knot things at one. Hoosick Falls goalkeeper Adrianna Sacilowski made six saves in the win.

ALBANY ACADEMY 234, GUILDERLAN­D 287 - Albany Academy’s Aidan Fitzgerald had a hole in one Monday in Albany Academy’s win over Guilderlan­d. Nick Lyons had Albany’s leading score with a 37. Fitzgerald, Timmy Carlson, and Sam Gerdeman all shot 39’s. Guilderlan­d’s leading scorer was Aidan Seery, who shot a 41.

GALWAY 13, MIDDLEBURG­H 2 - Ryan Lovelass shot the match high (37) Monday in route to Galway’s win. Nick Zuk added a 45 and Josh Lovelass a 46 to help Galway. Middleburg­h’s John Bruno shot a 45.

SHEN 229, BURNT HILLS 280 - Shen’s win Monday was powered by Paul Goetz’s team leading 33. Luke Potter and Mike Westfall both shot 38’s. Burnt Hills’ Max Stofle shot a 43, which was the team’s highest of the day.

SHAKER 244, BALLSTON SPA 274 - Ian Fitzgerald and Michael Pisinski both shot 38’s to power Shaker to the Suburban Council win. Lane Jenkins shot a 40 and Devin Jackson shot a 42 for Shaker. Ballston Spa’s leading scorer was Bella Diaz with a 41.

VOORHEESVI­LLE 191, CATHOLIC CENTRAL 200 - Voorheesvi­lle’s win Monday was led by Evan O’Connor’s 45. Along with O’Connor, Robert Erickson shot a 48 and Dylan Roussin and Adam Farney shot 49’s. Catholic Central’s leading scorer was Jack Mattfield with a 46.

LA SALLE 173, RAVENACOEY­MANS-SELKIRK 198 - La Salle’s Michael Fritz and Mitchell Rheman each shot 42’s and were medalists in the win Monday night. Ravena’s Adam Wells led the way with a 44 and Jared Strokes was right behind him with a 45. Other La Salle scores were Kean Toomey’s 44 and Anthony Gregware’s 45.

HOOSICK FALLS 3, CORINTH 0 - Off the opening kick off Hoosick Falls moved the ball well and Ethan Mattison put the ball in the side netting in the opening minute of the game. With 2 minutes left in the first half Nick Houghton would find Zach Cahill who would then hit a shot that would hit off the post and in. The half ended 2- 0. Late in the 2nd half Daniel Louis Charles put in the 3rd goal on an assist from Max Archamault. Corinth’s goalie Curtis Rigley played an outstandin­g game.

SCHALMONT 4, CATHOLIC CENTRAL 0 - Schalmont shut out Catholic Central Monday with Ryan Edwards scoring two goals in the effort. Dom Scalice added a goal of his own. Schalmont improves to 8-1 with the Colonial Council win. Catholic Central goalkeeper Noah Miller made nine saves in the loss.

GIRLS SOCCER

STILLWATER 2, HOOSIC VALLEY - Stillwater scored two goals in the second half to earn the shut out win Monday over Hoosic Valley. Teya Staie and Paige Brinsko scored the two Stillwater goals in the win. Hoosic Valley goalie Sarah Sheldon made 12 saves in the loss. Stillwater’s Kiersten Conroy made three saves to earn the shut out.

FORT PLAIN 2, GALWAY 1 - Molly Bates and Jenna Reese each scored in Fort Plains conquering of Galway Monday. Galway’s goal was scored by Izzy Mancini. Fort Plain goalkeeper Ashlyn Tubbs made ten saves in the win and Galway goalkeeper Kimberly Martin also made ten saves in the loss.

COHOES 5, LANSINGBUR­GH 3 - Shannon Cepiel and Hannah Ragule each scored a pair of goals in route to Cohoes 5-3 win over Lansingbur­gh. Kalie Calagna scored one for Cohoes. Two Lansingbur­gh goals were scored by Madison Teta and Josie Hadeka scored one in the loss. Lansingbur­gh goalie Jillian Currier made 11 saves and Cohoes goalie Laura Levitus made 17.

CATHOLIC CENTRAL 6, COBLESKILL- RICHMONDVI­LLE 1 - Madison Clermont, Emily Drake, and Claudia Fountain each scored two goals in Catholic Central’s win over Cobleskill Monday. Cobleskill’s lone goal was scored by Emma Osterhout. Catholic Central goalkeeper Maddie Finn made eight saves while Cobleskill goalkeeper Sydney Dymes made eight saves.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

SHEN 3, NISKAYUNA 0 - Shen swept Niskayuna to earn the Suburban Council win Monday to become 6-1 this season. Set scores were 25-9, 25-15, and 25-22. Shen’s Doug Ngo-Hatchie had nine kills. Kellan Kennedy added four kills. Matt Zawistowsk­i finished off with six kills.

BUR N T HILLSBALLS­TON LAKE 3, BETHLEHEM 0 - Burnt Hills swept Bethlehem for the Suburban Council win Monday night. Set scores were 25-23, 25-18, and 2510. Burnt Hills is now 8-1 and Bethlehem falls to 7-2. Burnt Hills’ Jake Baker had 14 kills, three blocks, two aces, and nine digs.Derek Haughey had 25 assists, three kills, two blocks, and two aces.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

MAYFIELD 3, SARATOGA CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0 - Mayfield swept Saratoga Monday to earn the non league win. Set scores were 25-11, 25-13, and 25-20. Saratoga is now 6-2 overall with the loss and Mayfield becomes 7-1. For Saratoga Elise Browell had four service points, two aces, and nine assists. Kennedy Murphy had four service points and five kills. Mayfield’s Mikayla Myers had seven points, five kills, one block, and ten digs in the win.
