John (Jack) Moss, 87, of Troy NY, passed from this life on Monday, September 24, 2018 after a brief illness. Jack was born, raised, and educated in Cohoes NY, his parents were the late Henry Moss and Hazel (Sloan) Moss. Jack was married to Rose ( De Gennero) Moss on October 5, 1963. Jack enjoyed spending time with his wife and fishing anytime he could. While stationed in Alaska with the Air Force his post was driver for the General. One of his favorite stories is how he drove Bob Hope and his wife to tour the local Alaskan sites. He was predecease­d by his wife in 2015 and survived by his son and daughter in law, Daniel and Jennifer Moss; granddaugh­ter Cassandra, her husband Travis Bivins, granddaugh­ter Heather Moss, sister Mary Bendon and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Jack has requested no wake services be held in his honor, only wishing to be laid at rest with his beloved wife, Rosaria (De Gennero) Moss at the Saratoga National Cemetery. Funeral Services will be held Monday October 1, 2018 at 9:30 am at the cemetery. Jack was a patient of the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center and the Troy VA clinic. He made many friends and valued the time and effort the doctors, nurses, and care workers at each of these facilities. He appreciate­d the friendline­ss, attention, and the fact they laughed at his jokes. He continuall­y commented on the free ride service that is provided for veterans to transport them to their appointmen­ts. In lieu of flowers we request any donations be made to the General Support Services of the Albany VA. This fund helps provide the buses, food, clothing and other services for his fellow veterans.
