JOHN E. BILLS, SR.

John E. Bills, Sr., 82, of North Syracuse, died Tuesday, September 25th at Elderwood at Liverpool. John was born in Troy, NY to the late Edward P. and Margaret (Mitchell) Bills. He was a 1954 graduate of Lansingburg High School and resided in North Syracuse since 1963. John was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of the NYANG 174th Fighter Wing activated during the Berlin crisis and also stationed in France. John retired in 1998 after over 20 years as a mechanical engineer with Robson Woese Inc in Syracuse. Following that, he worked for several area companies including Laboratory Alliance for 10 years. John was a big Syracuse University Basketball and Football fan and a member of St. Margaret’s Church in Mattydale. He was predeceased by his siblings, Robert Bills, Marion Billingham and Ruth Wheland. John is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, the former C. Denise (Glasheen); four children: I.Christine ( Mark) Sweet of Corning, M. Daveda (John) Wingenbach of Pennellville, John E. (Raita) Bills of Liverpool, and David C. (Julie) Bills of Farmington; his 12 grandchildren: Matthew, Lucas, Alison, Bryan, Emily, Katelyn, Trina, Kyla, Christopher, Nicholas, Zachary, and Makenzie; three great grandchildren: Lily, Rosalie, and Charlie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 - 4 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, 10:00 am, at St. Margaret’s Church, 203 Roxboro Rd., Mattydale. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Clay.
