William H. Mosso, Jr., 91, of Troy, formerly of Raeford, NC and Melrose, NY, entered peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s in Albany. Born in Edgewater, New Jersey on March 2, 1927, Bill was the son of the late William H. and Louise Durant Mosso. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served aboard the USS Houston, taking part in the Goodwill Tour at the end of the war. Bill was employed for most of his life for Spentonbus­h Marine in Brooklyn, NY, as a tugboat engineer. He was also employed at Croft Metals, NC and most recently at Wal-Mart in Brunswick, NY as a greeter. Bill had also owned and operated Jean’s Beans Restaurant in Troy for many years. Bill enjoyed working on cars, crafts, painting but most especially enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Bill had been a member of the Loyal Order of Moose lodges in both Cohoes, NY and Raeford, NC. He is the beloved father of Joseph ( Stephanie) Mosso and Antoinette “Toni” (Tracy) Thaggard. He is the cherished grandfathe­r of Devan, Hunter, Noah, Hayden, Austin, Mackenzie and the late Stephanie, adored great grandfathe­r of Stephanie and Heavenly Faith. He was also predecease­d by his former wife and friend Dorothy A. Primeau Mosso. Bill was the brother of the late Evamay Wilkins, Yvonne Moody, Joseph, Frank and James Mosso. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. Interment with full military honors to follow at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylervi­lle. His family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Community Hospice for their compassion­ate care at the end of his life.
