COLONIE Duane Hamilton Rennells, 75, formerly of North Greenbush, NY passed into the presence of Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY. Duane was born in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Carl Allen Rennells and Rachel Hamilton Rennells on March 2, 1943. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School (Jamestown, NY), Wheaton College, and Northern Illinois University. He was an Army veteran and worked for NY State Division of the Budget for 35 years. He was a member of Loudonvill­e Community Church for over 45 years and served as an assist. treasurer, elder, Sunday school teacher, and in small group ministry. Duane was also active with his wife in the local homeschool community as chapter leaders for Hudson Valley LEAH (Loving Education at Home) for over 10 years. Duane will be remembered and missed as a loving husband, father, brother, and friend, a man who was proud of his children, and always treasured time with his family. He was a man of prayer, generous, kind, and gracious. He loved people and was a good listener. He was also an avid follower of current events, particular­ly US politics. He enjoyed good humor and was a photograph­er who took beautiful pictures for many years. Duane is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Posadni Rennells, his sister Louise (Rex) Carpenter, his four children: Rachel (Chris) Binder, Matthew (Alissa) Rennells, Sarah ( Jonathan) Teubl, Mary (Isaac) Abbott, and his eleven grandchild­ren: Ellen Binder, Joshua Binder, Katelyn Binder, Liam Rennells, Juliana Rennells, Faith Teubl, Esther Teubl, Serena Teubl, Abigail Abbott, Simeon Abbott, and Nathaniel Abbott. He is also survived by seven cousins, as well as nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 27 at 4:00 p.m. at Loudonvill­e Community Church, 374 Loudon Road, Loudonvill­e, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Bible Society or to the Loudonvill­e Community Church Missions Fund. A private graveside service will be held in Ulysses, PA.
