VOTERS TO HEAD TO THE POLLS
Voters will choose their representatives on Election Day
CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. >> Voters will head to the polls throughout the day Tuesday to choose who they want representing them for the next few years.
People throughout the state will decide who they want the next governor to be. Democratic incumbent Gov. Andrew Cuomo will challenge Republican candidate Marc Molinaro, along with Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins, Serve America Movement party candidate Stephanie Miner and Libertarian party candidate Larry Sharpe.
Statewide people will also vote for New York State Comptroller, with Democratic incumbent Thomas DiNapoli challenging Republican candidate Jonathan Trichter, along with Green Party candidate Mark Dunlea and Libertarian candidate Cruger E. Gallaudet.
Voters will also cast their vote for the next New York State Attorney General. That race involves Democratic candidate Letitia A. James and Republican candidate Keith Wofford, along with Green Party candidate Michael Sussman, Reform Party candidate Nancy B. Sliwa, and Libertarian candidate Christopher B. Garvey
hroughout parts of Rensselaer and Albany counties, voters will also choose who they want the next representative to be for a U.S. Senator, representing New York.
Democratic incumbent Kirsten E. Gillibrand is set to challenge Republican candidate Chele Chiavacci Farley.
In parts of Rensselaer County people will also vote for their next representative for NewYork’s 19th Congressional district. Republican incumbent John Faso will face Democratic candidate Antonio Delgado.
People throughout parts of Rensselaer and Albany counties will also choose their next representative for New York’s 20th Congressional district. Democratic incumbent Paul Tonko will challenge Republican candidate Joe Vitollo.
Voters will also cast their votes for a couple New York State Senate seats on Tuesday. In the 43rd State Senate district, Democratic candidate Aaron W. Gladd will challenge Republican candidate Daphne V. Jordan.
In the 44th New York State Senate district, people will choose between Democratic incumbent Neil Breslin and Republican candidate Christopher Davis.
Voters in parts of Rensselaer County will also cast their vote for a representative for the 107th New York State Assembly district. Republican incumbent Jake Ashby will challenge Democratic candidate Tistrya G. Houghtling.
In the 108th New York State Assembly district, Democratic incumbent John McDonald III is running un- opposed.
In Rensselaer County, people will decide who they want the next District Attorney to be. Republican incumbent Joel Abelove is set to face Democratic candidate Mary Pat Donnelly.
Voters in Rensselaer County will also decide on a couple open seats in the Rensselaer County Legislature.
Republican incumbent Kim Ashe-McPherson will challenge Democratic candidate Carole Weaver for a District 1 seat, which covers the City of Troy.
Republican incumbent Charles J. Peter will run unopposed for Rensselaer County Legislature District 4, which covers the Town of Sand Lake, Schodack, and Nassau.
In the City of Watervliet, voters will choose between incumbent Democratic City Councilman Charles Patricelli and Independence Party candidate Ellen Fogarty.
Voters can head to the polls in various locations from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
