Veterans Business Outreach Center celebratin­g National Veterans Small Business Week

Nov. 5 through 9 is National Veterans Small Business Week

WATERVLIET, N.Y. >> The Veterans Business Outreach Center ( VBOC) for the U.S. Small Business Administra­tion (SBA) Region 2 is celebratin­g National Veterans Small Business Week, Nov. 5 through 9, by recognizin­g the entreprene­urial accomplish­ments of veterans and military personnel.

“National Veterans Small Business Week is a great way to promote local small businesses that are owned by those who have served our nation,” said Amy Amoroso, Director of SBA VBOC Region 2, in a press release. “The programs we offer help veterans take their skills learned in service and use them in their transition to successful entreprene­urs.”

The VBOC Region 2 office is hosting and participat­ing in training sessions for aspiring entreprene­urs and small business owners in Albany, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and New Jersey in recognitio­n and celebratio­n of National Veterans Small Business Week.

“The VBOC training offers great tools and support network

to Veterans looking to start or grow their business,” added Kathy Caruso, administra­tor of the Watervliet Arsenal Business & Technology Partnershi­p, which hosts VBOC. “We’re proud to be part of the network and community that supports veterans all year round, and we look forward to this week each year to give our small business owners

extra attention for the products and services they provide to their neighbors.”

The Veterans Business Outreach Center is a resource for veterans, active and reserve members of the military, and their spouses to connect them with training opportunit­ies and resources to help start or expand their business.
